PLAY ALONG WITH THE VENTURES

The Ventures has inspired me to learn electric guitar. Their last visit to Hong Kong was on 20th November 1999, playing in the HK Convention Centre. They were meek, modest and approachable. I have always dreamt of playing with them. But since it’s an impossible dream, I share the vicarious feeling of playing with them while listening to their music. Admittedly, it is a difficult task to superimpose each note, and I’ve experienced some fluff in my playing. Sorry!!!

    – Thanks for your comment. I have been a Ventures ever since I was a kid listening admirably to the guitar sound of “Driving Guitar” and “Yellow Jacket”. Then I started to learn electric guitar following the style of the Ventures. I was fortunate enough to have a long chat with the Ventures at the backstage when they last visited Hong Kong in 1999. The late Bob Bogle told me that “Jazzmaster” was his favorite guitar and that is no reason why I should not have bought one.

    I enjoyed that, thank you!
And there’s no other guitar that has that unmistakable Jazzmaster sound ;-)
